I recently read an article in people magazine about Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

She had a voice issue for 2 years. When I first saw the article I was excited to read it then I procrastinated. Why? Well, I think it was because I knew she recovered and she never really lost her voice, she had a whisper. So, I was comparing my situation. But when I finally read it I was glad I did. Her story was just that, Her’s. It was emotional and she will continue to live with the struggle. You don’t realize how important our voice is, it's who we are. Not being able to express ourselves, not to connect with others, we lose ourselves. She said she just wanted to hide away I understand. She didn't want to go out because she couldn't be part of the conversations, yeah. "I grieved. I wondered, ' Who am I without my voice?" I weep for her and myself as I type this up.

She had her family and sister for support. I found myself jealous for that. But I have a wonderful husband.

If you can read the article I recommend it. It is the December 30, 2024 People magazine.
